Honorary Consul's Visit to Armenia

The Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Saxony, Prof. Lucas Flöther, undertook a week-long business and personal visit to Armenia on May 17-25. During the visit, the Honorary Consul, along with the head of consular office Sirarpi Movsisyan, held various meetings aimed at deepening and developing relations between Armenia and Saxony, with the support of the Armenian Embassy in Germany. These meetings included discussions at the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia with Sargis Khandanyan, Deputy Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, and Lilit Kirakosyan, a member of the Germany-Armenia friendship group. The conversations focused on the relationship between Armenia and Germany and explored potential avenues for further cooperation.
Additionally, a meeting was held at Yerevan Municipality with Deputy Mayor Armen Pambukhchyan. The Honorary Consul presented the consulate’s vision for deepening and developing Yerevan-Leipzig cooperation, highlighting areas such as environmental protection, culture, sports, local self-government, and business investments.
The visit also included a meeting at the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University with the Dean Prof. Harutyun Mkrtchyan, Vice Dean Dr. Anna Margaryan, and various professors, including Garik Avagyan, President of the RA Bankruptcy Court. The discussions centered on the possibilities and pathways for cooperation between the Faculty of Law and the universities of Halle and Leipzig, particularly in the area of bankruptcy administration, which is the primary professional focus of the Honorary Consul. The guests also toured the faculty.
